Staff augmentation

Capacity for the work you have already defined.

Engineers, data specialists, QA and DevOps added to your team for a project or an ongoing need — screened to the same bar as a permanent hire, whether they stay three months or three years. Vetted by us, directed by you.

What this is

You know the work and you know the skills. We supply people who can do it, quickly, without you running a search. This is the service Virdapt has delivered to Canadian enterprises since the beginning — weighted towards data, integration and application engineering, which is where most of our placements sit.

The same screening bar applies here as everywhere else: a structured behavioural assessment and a role-specific skills assessment before anyone reaches your shortlist. We do not forward CVs we have not assessed.

Why clients use us for this

Four things that are easy to claim and harder to run a business by.

What you are buying
01

One bar, not two

Augmentation is where most providers quietly lower their standards, because the engagement is short and the client is in a hurry. Our screening is identical whether someone joins for three months or three years.

02

Not a database

Most agencies forward CVs from a pool within hours. We would rather take a few days and send two people who fit than six who match the keywords.

03

A named person, not a queue

You deal with the same contact throughout, and they know the brief without being reminded of it.

04

An honest answer about fit

If augmentation is the wrong instrument for what you are describing, we say so — and point you to the one that fits, even when that is a smaller sale for us.

How an engagement is shaped

The commercial detail most providers make you ask for. A shortlist in a week, a start in three, and a replacement inside one if we get it wrong.

ReplacementIf a placement is not working, we replace them within 1 week at no cost, and the search restarts the day you tell us

Rates depend on role, seniority and scarcity. We quote per role rather than publishing a rate card, and we will tell you on the first call if your budget and your brief do not meet.

When augmentation is the wrong answer

It is the right instrument when you know the work and need hands. It is the wrong one in three situations we see often:

You want the person to stay

Augmentation ends with the engagement. If you are building a team you intend to keep, employ them properly through our EOR model — same people, different arrangement, and a reason to stay.

Nobody has defined the work yet

Adding capacity to an undefined problem produces activity, not progress. That is what forward-deployed engineering is for.

You need an outcome, not effort

If you want to buy a result rather than time, ask us for a fixed-scope engagement and we will price the deliverable.

How it differs from EOR

Augmentation is capacity against a defined scope, usually for a fixed period, billed on time. EOR is how you build a lasting team: the person is employed on our own entity, with payroll, benefits, equipment and onboarding handled, and they stay with you.

Plenty of clients run both at once — augmentation for a project, EOR for the core team. Moving someone from one to the other is straightforward and we will not charge you a conversion fee for it.

Roles we have delivered

Not a list of everything we could theoretically find. These are the roles we have actually placed, which is why we can tell you what good looks like in each one.

To name a few

Data Engineer

Pipelines, ingestion and transformation — the role we are asked for most.

Data Architect

Modelling, platform design and the decisions everything downstream inherits.

Product Owner / Business Analyst

The bridge between what the business wants and what the team builds.

BI Developer

Reporting and dashboards people actually use to make decisions.

API Developer

Integration work across systems that were never designed to talk to each other.

Forward-Deployed Engineer

Embedded delivery on AI work, from discovery through to production.

Full-Stack Developer

Front to back on application work, inside your existing team and conventions.

Something not listed?

Tell us the role. If we have not placed it before, we will say so rather than take the search and find out.

Every one of these goes through the same vetting — a structured behavioural assessment and a 60-minute skills assessment built for the specific role. How we source and vet →

Send us the role.

Tell us the skills, the duration and the start date. We will come back with a realistic timeline before you commit to anything.
