Toronto head office. Teams across North America and India.
Headquartered in Toronto, with a presence across North America and in India. Virdapt is three years old, built on a group that has been operating since 2019 and on one conviction about how technical people should be paid.
Our story
Virdapt exists because our founder, Taru Johri, got tired of watching the same thing happen in Canadian tech contracting: the engineers doing the actual work were the ones paid least fairly for it. Layers of intermediaries, opaque margins, and a market that treated skilled people as a line item rather than the reason the work succeeded.
That seemed backwards and increasingly so. In a market built on AI and data, the core technical team is not a cost centre supporting the business. It is the part of the business that determines whether anything ships.
So the company was built on a simple commitment: pay people properly. That is not charity, it is the operating model. Fair compensation is why strong engineers take our calls, why they say yes, and why they are still there a year later when the domain knowledge has compounded and the client would feel it if they left.
Virdiss Inc. was incorporated in Toronto in 2019. Virdapt followed three years ago, built around that principle.
How we are structured
Virdapt is headquartered in Toronto, Canada, and that is the entity our clients contract with. We also operate a wholly owned subsidiary in India, which employs talent for clients who want access to that market. One company, one standard, wherever someone sits.
What we do and do not do
We supply talent and we train teams. We do not take custom software builds. When a client needs a system built, we deploy engineers who build it inside the client's own team and hand it over we do not run a client's project as an outsourced deliverable.
What fair pay buys a client
An engineer who is paid properly does not treat your engagement as a stopgap. They stay, they learn your systems, and they are still there when that knowledge is worth the most. Churn is the hidden cost in contracting, and we would rather not create it in the first place.
Leadership
Taru Johri
Taru founded Virdapt after years in Canadian technology contracting, where she watched the engineers doing the work end up last in line on the economics. She built the company around the opposite premise: pay technical people properly, and the quality of the people you can attract takes care of itself.
She leads the business from Toronto and is directly involved in how engagements are scoped and staffed clients and candidates both tend to meet her early.
